“Why Burkina Faso needs more Freedom”
was the topic of the first conference organised by CEDAH (Le Centre des Affaires Humaines) at the Azimut High School in Ouagadougou in January 2011. The speaker was Mahamadou Sinte, the Executive director of the first educational free-market public policy think tank in Burkina Faso.
After a brief presentation of the CEDAH and a definition of freedom , the speaker detailed the rank of Burkina Faso in the economic freedom network report and the International property rights index 2010 . Burkina Faso then needs more freedom because Numerous studies have shown that countries with more freedom grow more rapidly and achieve higher per-capita income levels than those that are less free.
At the end of the conference the executive director distributed “ Ideas for a free society” CDs to the participants. “This conference was a great opportunity for me learn the basic concepts of freedom and the CD will allow me increase my level in English wile discovering freedom thinkers and theirs articles ” said YAMEOGO Patrice , a student in accounting at Azimut School.
