Armenian Essay Competition

Hosted by the Armenian Students for Liberty and Network for a Free Society in collaboration with the Youth Network of the South Caucasus, the essay competition is open to all young professionals, recent university graduates, and fourth-year undergraduate students from Armenia. Submissions are limited to one per person. Applicants are expected to choose one of the topics below. Essays must be in English and the sole and original work of the entrant and not previously published. The format of the text should be in MS word and not more than 1,500 words. The submission deadline is June 20, 2013.

The topics are the following:
- Freedom, Property and the Rule of Law,
- The Open Society and Its Enemies,
- Principles of a Free Society,
- Economic Freedom and Development,
- The Role of Institutions in Entrepreneurship.

A group from Liberal Youth Network of the South Caucasus will choose the best ten winners. These ten winners will be invited to participate at a First Armenian Students For Liberty Conference to be held in September 2013, Tsaxkadzor, Armenia and introduce their essays. During the conference the independent academics will put these ten in their final order.

Travel costs and two nights’ room and meals will be provided.

All participants will get a free CD of “Ideas for a free society”.
