The debates are run jointly by the Tajikistan Free Market Center and the Tajikistan Debate Center . They started in March and the finals will be between the three top teams from universities in Dushanbe and Khujand in July.
Each of the 5 debate evenings will have a different topic such as ‘The Individual and the State’, ‘Pluralism and Tolerance’ and ‘Civil Society’
The purpose of the project is raising awareness and increase youth involvement in the public discussion on the topics of free society, the role of individual and state to the political, social and economic life. During informal education the league participants will get skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in a contemporary democratic society.
