We are extremely sad to announce that Linda Whetstone, the founder, leader and cornerstone of Network for a Free Society, died suddenly in Miami, USA, on August 15th.
We are joined by a large number of people across the world whose lives she touched in expressing our sorrow at her passing, our appreciation for the inspiration she gave to so many and our sense of privilege and gratitude to have known her and to have worked with her over many years.
All activities of NFS are therefore temporarily suspended while Linda’s family repatriates her from the United States and gives Linda a fitting & final farewell.
We and our fellow board members will be considering how best Linda’s work should be continued and NFS’s commitments fulfilled, in consultation both with partner institutes with whom she collaborated closely and with NFS’s generous donors.
